This report presents a detailed cost analysis of azane production from heavy oil. In this process, heavy oil is used to produce synthesis gas, a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, through the gasification process. This gas is then treated using a water-gas shift reaction to convert its carbon monoxide content into hydrogen and carbon dioxide which is further purified. Finally, the purified hydrogen reacts with nitrogen in the ammonia synthesis plant to produce azane.
