In July, wastepaper and corrugated paper continued to fall, with Short-term Weak Performance
The wastepaper prices in the Zhejiang region of China are experiencing a continuous decline during the month of July. As per a report, A-grade waste yellow cardboard's average purchase price in Zhejiang Province was 1508 RMN per tonne. This average price was 4.68 percent lower than the price of 1582 RMB per tonne on July 1st.
On the other hand, the price of Corrugated paper has also shown a drop of 4.32 percent, with the average factory price of 2660 RMB per tonne for 140g corrugated base paper, which was 2780 RMB per tonne on July 1st.
The domestic wastepaper market experienced a significant decline in early July, which continued to deteriorate. This decrease can be attributed to several factors, including the high-temperature weather in China, which increased the demand for shell packaging for beverages.
Furthermore, the e-commerce festival ended in mid-year and has increased the inventory of wastepaper in the packaging station. Additionally, the decline in paper prices has also affected the situation, as there is currently a high stock of raw paper in mills, causing wastepaper to be purchased mainly on demand. As a result, the price of wastepaper has weakened and dropped.
The price of corrugated paper has also continuously decreased during the initial days of July. This is due to the decrease in the prices of paper by the two major bases of Nine Dragons Paper Holding Limited at the end of the previous month. This trend was further followed by the market's second and third-grade paper mills. The domestic paper industry is struggling due to insufficient market demand and a prolonged decline in paper prices.
According to Procurement Resource, the wastepaper and corrugated paper markets are currently on a downward trend. This is due to the decrease in the demand for such papers as well as a reduction in the prices by some companies.
